Yesterday was one of those perfect days, forever stored in the memory bank. My baby, my oldest son, turned 18. My boy is now a man. My heart bursts with gratitude as I ponder his life and the person he has become. He is kind, funny, intelligent, frustratingly messy, but a truly unique individual whom I know is making a positive mark on the world. It is always special to be on summer vacation and here at Merimbula on his birthday, but this year was extra special as we celebrated as a family the milestone of turning 18.
I keep hearing Taylor Swift’s words singing in my head “I had the best day with you, today”. It was a day of Adam’s choice – breakfast at the Waterfront cafe, mini golf at Wombat Holes, watching the surf at Short Point, coffee and a stroll along the Merimbula Boardwalk, dinner at the Merimbula Aquarium and Wharf Restaurant and a night walk around the lake in the balmy summer air. As we watched the sun go down through the window from our table at the restaurant, I knew we had just had The Best Day!
Beautiful!

Thank you, although photos don’t really do the reality justice 😊
