Congratulations to Braemar College’s Paddy Grindlay who won this year’s Woodend Winter Arts Festival’s Young Writers’ Award sponsored by the SR Stoneman Foundation.

The theme for the competition was ‘Happenings at Hanging Rock’.  Paddy’s piece titled Memories is about a person who has lived at Hanging Rock their entire life and sees it being destroyed by development.

PhotoJudges of the competition said that Paddy’s story was engaging right from the start.

Paddy says, ” I was thrilled to receive the award and I’m looking forward to pursuing further writing competitions and opportunities.”
